Shillong, December 4, 2012: The Shillong Municipal Board will introduce the airport shuttle between Shillong and Guwahati Airport from 7th December, 2012 to cater to the convenience of the public traveling to Guwahati Airport. In this regard a total of six Tata Wingers will ply between Shillong and LGBI airport Guwahati at 6.00 am and 9.00 am daily.

Tickets are available at the Stand located at the SMB Parking lot opposite SBI, MG road at the rate of Rs. 350/-. For advance booking mobile nos. 9612165161/ 9402118426 may be contacted. For travelers travelling from Guwahati airport to Shillong arrangements has been made at the ticket counter located near the luggage collection centre of LGBI airport Guwahati.

PERSONAL INTERVIEW FOR THE POST OF FISHERY DEMONSTRATOR

Shillong, December 4, 2012: The Secretary, District Selection Committee East Khasi Hills District has informed the candidates that the Personal Interview for the post of Fishery Demonstrator will be held on 17th December 2012. It is also informed that the Written Test Examination for the post of Staff Nurse will be held on 14th December 2012. NOTICE

Shillong, December 4, 2012: The Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills District has informed that on 30th November 2012 at 9:00 AM one unidentified male dead body was found hanging with a multi coloured check shirt and green belt tied together at Umphyrnai. Accordingly, inquest of the dead body has been done on the spot and after observing all the legal formalities the dead body was forwarded to SDM & HO for holding PM examination after which the dead body has been kept in Civil Hospital Morgue room for identification.

In the event of identifying the deceased the citizens are requested to contact O/C Madanriting PS at 0364-2231408, and Police Control Room Shillong at 0364-2222277.

WORLD DISABLED DAY OBSERVED AT FATIMA DISPENSARY NONGKASEN

Shillong, December 4, 2012: Badhte Kadam Iv cum world Disabled Day was observed on 3rd December 2012 at Fatima Dispensary Nongkasen in collaboration with WETSPAD where Dr. A. Pariong, MLA was the Chief Guest.

Highlights of the day included prized distribution for the disable persons and speeches officials from different departments on the schemes available for disabled persons. Medical checkup also organized during the day.

TOURIST INFORMATION CENTER TO BE INAUGURATED

Shillong, December 4, 2012: A Tourist Information Center (TIC) located at Mawkdok, midway to Cherrapunjee will be Inaugurated by Dr. P. W. Khongjee MLA on December 7th 2012. The center has been created as Cherrapunjee is a must visit destination for all tourist visitors in the state. The TIC will serve as a center for dissemination of information not only for Sohra but for the entire State.

The premises has also facilities of a drive in cafeteria with amenities like use and pay toilets. An added attraction at the TIC is the creation of an exhibition room showcasing the artifacts of the traditional art, culture and heritage of the Khasi, Jaintia and Garo tribes.
