RATE OF COMPENSATION FOR REQUISITIONING OF VEHICLES REVISED

Shillong, December 6, 2010: The Government of Meghalaya has revised the rate of compensation to the vehicle owners at the rate shown below when their vehicles are requisitioned by the Government for public purpose with immediate effect.

For Mini Bus and City Bus 20-40 seating capacity, the revised rate of compensation per diem is Rs. 1,427.5/-, for City Bus, Line Bus and Bazar Bus 41 seaters and above is Rs. 1,512.5/. For Tourist Taxi (all different types of small vehicles below 6 seaters in all) is Rs. 713.75/-, for Local Taxi below 6 seaters is Rs. 672.5/-, for Maxi Taxi 6 seaters above and below 12 seaters is Rs. 1,007.5, for Maxi Taxi 12 seaters and above and below 20 seaters is Rs. 1250/-.

For private vehicles like Ambassador, Fiat, Maruti, Indica, Uno, Santro, Matiz, Spark, Figo etc., the rate of compensation per diem is Rs. 546.25/-, for Bolero, Sumo, Commander, Scorpio is Rs. 840/-, for Jeep with Trailer is Rs. 672.5/- for Maruti Gypsy, Jeep without Trailer is Rs. 587.5/-.

For Public Carrier Truck 9 MT and above is Rs. 1427.5/-, for 5 MT upto 7 ½ MT (Shaktiman) is Rs. 1343.75/-, for 3 MT upto 5 MT is Rs. 1092.5/- for upto 3 MT pay load is Rs. 1050/-, for 5 MT to 9 MT (Tata 4 Wheelers) is Rs. 1343.75/-.

For Private Carrier upto 9 MT and above is Rs. 1343.75/-, for 5 MT upto 7 ½ MT (Shaktiman) is Rs. 1176.25/- for 3 MT upto 5 MT Pay load is Rs. 1092.5/- for upto 3 MT Pay load is Rs. 1007.5/- for 5 MT to 9 MT (Tata 4 Wheelers) is Rs. 1,176.25/-.

A night haltage allowance of Rs. 150/- only per vehicle per night to all categories of vehicle will be paid in addition of the vehicle so requisitioned involved night haltage away from Head-quarter. The revised rate of compensation is inclusive of wages of drivers and handymen. The actual POL charges for requisitioned vehicles will be borne by the Government.
