TIBETAN NATIONALS TO GET THEMSELVES REGISTERED

Shillong, December 6, 2011: The Superintendent of Police-cum-Foreigners Registration Officer, East Khasi Hills District has directed all Tibetan Nationals residing in the District who are above 18 years of age and have not registered with the office of the Foreigners Registration Officer, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong to get themselves registered with the above mentioned office within one month. Legal action will be initiated against the individuals who fail to comply with the above direction as per the provisions of the Foreigners Act, 1946.

LABOUR WELFARE CENTRES TO CONDUCT TRAINING PROGRAMME

Shillong, December 6, 2011: The Labour Commissioner, Meghalaya has informed that Labour Welfare Centres have been set up at Sohra, Umiam, Mendipathar, Byrnihat and Khliehriat under the Commissionerate of Labour for imparting training in sewing, knitting and embroidery for the benefit of the family members of labourers. The course of study will be six months commencing from the month of January, 2012. The current number of seats for the course is 30. Stipend for each trainee will be provided by the Government @ of Rs. 200/- per month.

Labourers and their family members who are interested in the training are to register in the Centres mentioned according to their location. Application Forms will be available from the office of the Labour Welfare Centre mentioned above.

FRESH APPOINTMENT OF GOVT. NOMINEES IN PDS

Shillong, December 6, 2011: The Sub-Divisional Officer (S), Sohra Civil Sub-Division has informed the public that the term of appointment of existing Government Nominees in PDS expires on the 31.12.2011. Applications are invited from interested persons, Co-operative Societies, NGOs and SHGs for fresh appointment of Government Nominees/Agents in PDS for the year 2012 in the Centres of Mawdkok, Laitryngew, Lad Sohbar, Shella and Sohra.

Application duly filled in alongwith relevant documents should reach the office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (S), Sohra Civil Sub-Division, Sohra within 15.12.2011.
