ALLOCATION OF RICE UNDER ANNAPURNA SCHEME

The Additional Director, Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Meghalaya, Shillong, has informed that rice under Annapurna scheme for January to March, 2006 has been released and allotted to the respective Deputy Commissioners/Sub-Divisional Officers for distribution to beneficiaries

The allocation per quintal for Shillong is 618.00, for Sohra is 86.70, for Nongpoh is 63.90, for Nongstoin is 169.50, for Mairang is 97.80, for Mawkyrwat is 163.80, for Jowai is 292.50, for Khliehriat is 29.10, for Amlarem is 195.00, for Tura is 444.00, for Ampati is 210.00, for Dadengiri is 86.70, for Baghmara is 210.30, for Williamnagar is 78.00 and for Resubelpara, the allocation is 33.60 quintal

ASSAM RIFLES RECRUITMENT RALLY

An Assam Rifles open recruitment rally will be held at Shillong for all Districts of Meghalaya from February 08-10, 2006 for enrolment of male candidates and ex-servicemen for the post of Rifleman (General Duty) Driver, Safai, Lineman Field, Clerk, Plumber, Operation Room Assistant (ORA), Pharmacist, Equipment Boot Repairer (EBR), Tailor, Barber and Painter.

Candidates should be between 18 to 23 years of age which is relaxable upto 5 years for SC/AT and 3 years for OBC. Educational qualification for Rifleman (General Duty) is Matriculation from recognized Board. Preference will be given to those having medium/heavy vehicle license. For Lineman Field, candidates should be matriculation with Diploma/ITI certificate from a recognized institution. For the post of ORA, candidates should have passed Matriculation with English/Maths and Science with Biology, for Pharmacist, candidates should have passed Matriculate with 3 years Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution. For the post of Clerk, candidates should passed 10+2 with English/Maths/Science and typing speed of 30 words/per min in English and 25 words in Hindi and having knowledge in Computer. For the post of Safai, EBR, Tailor, Barber and Painter, candidates should pass Class VIII

Eligible candidates are required to attend the rally on February 08, 2006 at the rally site at Shillong and should bring with them application form duly filled in all respect and relevant documents in original

LEGAL AID CELL FOR EX-SERVICEMEN

The Director, Sainik Welfare Board, Meghalaya has informed that Legal Aid Cell for Ex-Servicemen by Lt.Col. R.S. Panwar(Retd) Advocate has been set up for Ex-Servicemen, War Widows and 100% Disabled persons of the Armed Forces and their dependants (minor) to render free legal advice/help on court martial cases, pension cases, landlord/tenant disputes, motor accident, consumer rights and other legal matters.
