TWO-DAY DISTRICT BUYER SELLER MEET CUM SHG MELA HELD AT JOWAI

Local MLA Shri. Wailadmiki Shylla today inaugurated the two-day buyer-seller meet cum SHG Mela at Ladthadlaboh Playground, West Jaintia Hills.

Speaking during the inaugural function Local MLA Shri. Wailadmiki Shylla  emphasized the need of shfting from consumer state to actively engaged in local cultivation, livestock rearing and skill development recognizing the potential and valuable skills available within the region. He advised the youths not to wait solely for government jobs but to explore diverse employment opportunities.

The MLA added the government has implemented various schemes to support and empower the youth. He encouraged the youths to grasp the opportunity for personal and professional development.  He commended the DCIC department, the Skill Development Society for conducting awareness programs and training on skill and trade.

The MLA also emphasized on the importance of marketing, Cost cutting, building relationships and convincing consumers to enhance product success. He also inspected stalls installed by farmers, SHGs and departments.
