State Urban Affairs Minister, Shri R. V. Lyngdoh today launched the Chief Minister’s Housing Assistance Programme (CMHAP) under Mylliem C&RD Block at Pomlum Secondary School, Baniun in the presence of Shri A.L. Hek, MLA, Smti M.N. Nampui, Secretary, Housing department, Shri D. D. Sangma, Director of Housing, Shri P. T. Passah, BDO, Mylliem C&RD Block, Chairmen, Secretaries, Members of Housing Block Selection Committees of Mylliem, Mawpat and Mawlai C&RD Blocks, beneficiaries and others. Speaking briefly on the occasion, Shri Lyngdoh informed that the aim and objective of the Chief Minister’s Housing Assistance Programme (CMHAP) initiated by the State Government is to provide durable roofing materials to improve existing houses of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and also to provide dwelling houses to the Low Income Group (LIG) families living in the State, adding that the scheme is being implemented both in rural and urban areas of the State. During the programme, Shri R. V. Lyngdoh and others dignitaries distributed aluminium sheets to beneficiaries drawn from Mylliem, Mawpat and Mawlai C&RD Blocks. Shri Lyngdoh also distributed seeding money to farmers under the Meghalaya Livestock Mission under the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary department.
