CRPC IMPOSED IN EAST KHASI HILLS DISTRICT

Shillong, 20 February 2013: The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has promulgated an order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting holding of meeting, public rally, processions during the entire election process without permission from concerned authorities in connection with ensuing General Election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, 2013 in the whole of East Khasi Hills, District.

This order shall come into force with immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders.

RICE, LEVY SUGAR AND S.K OIL DISTRIBUTED

Shillong, February 20, 2013: The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Jaintia Hills District, Jowai has informed that the monthly quota of APL, BPL, AAY & additional quota of APL Rice, Levy and S.K Oil for the month of January, 2013 are being distributed to the consumers as per scale of 15.130Kgs per F.I card for both Rural and Urban areas and rate for Urban is Rs. 9.70 per kg through their respective fair price shops. While in rural areas the rate is fixed by their respective centres.

Additional APL quota of rice as per scale of 8.995 kgs per APL family at the rate of 9.70 per Kg in urban areas while for the rural areas the rate is fixed at their respective centre.

BPL Quota as per scale of 35 Kgs per card at the rate of 6.15 per Kg for both rural and town areas. AAY quota as per scale of 35 Kgs per card and at the rate of Rs. 3.00 per Kg for both rural and town areas.

Levy Sugar as per scale of 600 grams per head per month at the rate of 14.21 per Kg for urban areas while in rural areas the rate is fixed for their respective centre.

S.K Oil as per scale of 6.5 litres per card in town area at the rate of Rs. 16.41 per litres while in rural areas as per scale of 3.5 litres per family per month at the rate fixed by their respective centres.

DRY DAY DECLARED

Shillong, February 20, 2013: The Deputy Commissioner, (Excise), South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat has declared dry day on 21st February, 2013 in view of the General Election to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly on 23rd February, 2013 and counting of votes on 28th February, 2013.

Therefore, all liquor shops including IMFL shops, bars, hotels, C.A. Bars, C.S. Shops and out still stall shall remain closed on these dates. Violation of the order will lead to punishment as per excise rules and acts.

TRIBUNAL MEET

Shillong, February 20, 2013: The Registrar Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Tribunal Delhi High Court, New Delhi will sit in the Tribunal on 7th and 8th March 2013 at 11:30 AM at Pinewood Shillong on matters relating to declaring Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) of Meghalaya as “Unlawful Association”. This was informed by the under secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Political Department.
