Press Release No. 62/21 LOK SABHA SPEAKER INAUGURATES OUTREACH AND FAMILIARIZATION PROGRAMME FOR LOCAL BODIES Shri Om Birla, Speaker of Lok Sabha today inaugurated the Outreach and Familiarization Programme for Local Bodies of the State of Meghalaya and other North Eastern States organized by Parliamentary Research and Training Institute for Democracies (PRIDE), Lok Sabha Secretariat at the State Convention Centre, Pinewood Hotel, Shillong. The inaugural programme was also attended by Shri Conrad K. Sangma, Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Shri Rameshwar Teli, Minister of State, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Shri Metbah Lyngdoh, Speaker, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, Shri Lahkmen Rymbui, Minister for District Council Affairs Department, Government of Meghalaya, Members of Parliament, Autonomous District Councils, Panchayati Raj, Zila Parishad from different North Eastern States. It may be mentioned that the outreach and familiarization programme for grassroot level institution which was initiated by the Speaker of Lok Sabha focuses on enhancing participatory democracy through a greater awareness of the procedures and processes followed by democratic institutions functioning at various levels right from the grassroots to the apex level. The programme is intended to strengthen the institutions of governance and planning at the grass-root level, since maximizing self-governance is critical to empowering people. Apart from Panchayati Raj System, there is a need for mobilizing and strengthening Traditional Grass Root level Institutions as present in the Fifth and Sixth Schedule States. |
Press Release No. 63/21 NOTICE The Chief Inspector of Boilers and Factories, Meghalaya has informed that all occupiers, owners of all unregistered units, factories in the State who have not yet applied for ‘a license to establish a Factory’ with the office of the Chief Inspector of Boilers and Factories, Shillong are instructed to apply online for new registration with effect from 1st February 2021 at the earliest by visiting website https://investmeghalaya.gov.in. Non registration of application of licenses to establish any factory is punishable under the Section 6 of the Factories Act 1948 and Rule 13 of the Meghalaya Factories Rules, 1980. |
Press Release No. 64/21 NOTICE The Chief Inspector of Boilers and Factories, Meghalaya has informed that all occupiers, owners of all registered units, factories in the State of Meghalaya that the office of the Chief Inspector of Boilers and Factories, Shillong has switch over to the online system of new registration and auto-renewal of factory licenses under the Factories Act, 1948 and the Meghalaya Factories Rules, 1980 with effect from 1st February 2021. Hence, all are advised to file the online payment mode for the purpose of Registration and renewal of factory licenses by visiting website https://investmeghalaya.gov.in and no offline application will be entertained. |
