SPORTS TASK FORCE MEETING HELD

Shillong, February 4, 2010: The first meeting of the Task Force for Sports and Youth Affairs was held on February 4, 2010 under the Chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister i/c Sport and Youth Affairs, etc, Mr. B M Lanong. The Meeting was also attended by senior officials of the Sports and Youth department.

The Committee discussed and deliberated on activities of development and expert advice was given by Mr. Yogendra Chourhury, former Executive Director of Nehru Yuva Kendra who suggested that the Government of Meghalaya focus more on youth welfare programmes like leadership progammes youth fests, creation of more youth centers and entrepreneurial development programmes.

The Meeting was also attended by Mr Anish Gandhi, Advisor to the Chief Minister, who highlighted the possibilities of acquiring funding for infrastructural development progrmmes.
