CONTROL ROOM OF SURVEILLANCE TEAM

Shillong, February 7, 2013: The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District has informed that the Control Room of the Surveillance team of Income Tax Department is stationed at the Inspection Bungalow of Soil and Water Conservation Department for record, complaints and information regarding movements of large sums of cash or other items suspected to be used for bribing the electors.

LIST OF NOMINATED CANDIDATES FROM EAST KHASI HILLS

Shillong, February 7, 2013: The District Election Officer, East Khasi Hills District has informed that following are the list of nominated candidates in respect to Assembly Constituencies under East Khasi Hills except Sohra (C) Sub-Division in connection with the ensuing General Elections to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, 2013.

From 13-Mawryngkneng (ST), nominated candidates include Highlander Kharmalki of the United Democratic Party (UDP), Pynehborlang Mukhim of the Indian National Congress (INC), Pyniaid Sing Syiem of the Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP), David A Nongrum, Independent, Munu Paul Muktieh, Independent and Osaphi S Jyrwa, Independent. From 14-Pynthorumkhrah (GEN), the candidates include Satyendra Kumar of the National Congress Party (NCP), A L Hek of the INC, Process T Sawkmie, Independent, Predecessor Rumnong of the UDP and Andy Lyngwa of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

From 15-Mawlai (ST), the nominated candidates include Teiborlang Pathaw, Independent, Founder Strong Cajee of the INC, Embhahlang Syiemlieh of the UDP and Pyndapborthiaw Saibon of the Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM). The nominated candidates from 16-Shillong East are B M Lanong of the UDP, Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh of the INC and Romeo Phira Rani of the BJP. The nominated candidates of 17-Shillong North are Ibarilin Kharsati of the UDP, Roshan Warjri of the INC, Adelbert Nongrum of the KHNAM and Philomath Passah of the National People’s Party (NPP).

Candidates from 18-West Shillong (GEN) are Mohendro Rapsang of the INC, Paul Lyngdoh of the UDP and Donaldson Shanpru Independent. From 19-South Shillong (GEN), candidates include Manas Chaudhuri of the INC, Augustine Lakiang of the BJP, Sanbor Shullai of the NCP, Edward L Kharwanlang of the UDP, Mehboob K Lyngdoh of the NPP, Binod Kumar Joshi of the Samajwadi Party and Sounder Strong Cajee, Independent.

From 23-Sohiong (ST), nominated candidates are Braston Kharphuli of the UDP and H Donkupar R Lyngdoh of the INC. From 22-Nongkrem (ST), candidates include Fairly Bert Kharrngi of the BJP, Lambor Malngiang of the INC, Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit of the HSPDP, Draison Kharshiing of the UDP, Elston Roy Kharkongor, Independent and Hilarius Pohchen, Independent. GENERAL OBSERVERS AND POLICE OBSERVER FOR EAST KHASI HILLS

Shillong, February 7, 2013: The District Election Officer, East Khasi Hills District has informed that the General Observers and Police Observer for the ensuing Assembly Elections scheduled on February 23, 2013 in respect of East Khasi Hills District have arrived in the District and are available for any query, complaints or information relating to elections. Any person desirous to meet the Observers may contact the concerned Protocol Officers for fixing the appointments. The Observers are staying at Circuit House, Laban, Shillong. From 32-Nongstoin (ST), the candidates include Adviser Pariong of the INC, Hopingstone Lyngdoh of the HSPDP, Nasar Marwein of the UDP, Setsingh Dkhar of the NPP and Mathiewly Nongrem, Independent.
