In view of the prevailing situation concerning the Corona-virus Disease (COVID-19) in the country and globally, the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District has informed that no such cases have been reported in East Khasi Hills District till date. The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District appeals to all the users of social media and other public platforms to refrain from posting and sharing any rumour and or false information which creates panic and anxiety among the general public. The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District request the cooperation of the people to stay calm and follow the Advisory issued by Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya that was published in the media and circulated in various social media platforms. UNCLAIMED DEAD BODY

The Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Civil Hospital, Shillong has informed that a male patient named Karan Chetri, aged 50 years, C/o PAB, Civil Hospital, Shillong was admitted in the Male Surgical Ward, Bed No. 22, on 28-02-2020 at 2:48 AM. The patient expired on 08-03-2020 at 7:15 AM. All concerned relatives, etc. are hereby requested to collect the dead body from the Hospital Morque immediately failing which the dead body will be send for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board.
