Press Release No. 87/24 MARCUISE LAUNCHES RKVY PROJECTS Meghalaya Soil and Water Conservation minister, Marcuise N Marak, launched the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna (RKVY) projects for Doktilgre and Dinaminggre villages under Samanda C&RD Block at Doktilgre village in the presence of Samanda BDO, Tochri R Sangma, Rongjeng SDO (C), Reuben Ch Momin, officials from the Soil and Water Conservation department, Nokmas and the villgers on 12 March. Laucnhing the RKVY projects, Marcuise informed the gathering that the chief minister, Conrad K Sangma had been working tirelessly to make Meghalaya a “10 billion economy” by bringing various developmental projects through various departments of the Govt. and said that Williamnagr has witnessed a significant change in terms of development under the leadership of the chief minister. According to the minister, taking up of Dinaminggre and Doktilgre villages under RKVY scheme will immensely benefit the local farmers and help them increase their agricultural production. He said that RKVY project will help the farmers to go for multiple cropping thereby uplifting the standard of living of the villagers. He also said that the Govt. is initiating steps to uplift the farmers and urged the farmers to cooperate with and support the Govt. The others who spoke on the occasion included the Rongjeng SDO (C), Reuben Ch Momin and the representatives from Dinaminggre and Doktilgre villages. Earlier on the day, the minister inaugurated the newly constructed Muga Grainage Hall at Pilot Extension Centre (PEC) at Samanda Megapgre. |
