Press Release No. 198/06 WEARING OF SEAT BELTS IN VEHICLES The District Transport Officer, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has informed that the Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport and Highways, New Delhi has issued a notification instructing every vehicle, except motor cycles and three wheelers, to be equipped with a seat belt for the driver and the occupant in the front seat of the vehicle and the same should be used by the driver and the occupant while the vehicle is moving with a view to avoid any serious damages or injury while traveling in a moving car. This is also in compliance with Rule 125(I)(IA)9125A of the Motor Vehicle Rule, 1989. |
