Press Release No. 164/17 WOMEN OF OVER 60 YEARS CAN TRAVEL FREE OF COST IN MTC BUSES The Managing Director, Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) has informed that all women over 60 years of age will be allowed to travel free of cost in buses run by the Meghalaya Transport Corporation. They can approach the office of the Managing Director, MTC for passes in this regard, along with documents to support their claims. |
Press Release No. 165/17 NEET NECESSARY FOR BHMS AND BAMS STUDIES In order to bring meritorious students to the AYUSH systems of medicine in the country through National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), a decision has been taken that the entrance exams being conducted by the private association may be stopped from the academic session 2017-18 and all UG seats may be filled by considering the merit list of NEET. This was informed by the Director of Health Services (MI), Meghalaya, Shillong. Interested persons/students from the State aspiring to undergo BHMS/BAMS study are requested to take note of the above examination. |
Press Release No. 166/17 UJALA SCHEME LAUNCHED This is for information of the general public that the Inspectorate of Electricity which is the State Designated Agency on Energy Conservation in collaboration with EESL, New Delhi, has launched the UJALA Scheme in the State of Meghalaya, whereby, LED bulbs of 9 Watt are sold at the rate of Rs. 70.00 each with 3 years warranty and LED tube lights of 20 Watt are sold at the rate of Rs. 230.00 each with 2.5 years warranty in all the outlets setup by EESL across the State of Meghalaya. The Inspectorate of Electricity appeals the people to avail the scheme to lower their electricity bill and make the State more energy efficient. |
Press Release No. 167/17 MTC TO INTRODUCE MORNING BUS SERVICE The Managing Director, Meghalaya Transport Corporation (MTC) has informed that the MTC will introduce a morning bus service daily from Shillong to Ronjeng via Nongstoin and from Rongjeng to Shillong via Nongstoin with effect from 13th March, 2017. The bus will depart from Shillong from MUDA Parking Lot, opposite Anjalee Cinema Hall at 6:30 AM. It will depart from Rongjeng from Main Market Area at 6:30 AM. The bus fare is Rs. 205/- per head. |
