Press Release No. 170/17 YOUTH LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CAMP CONCLUDES The five day Youth Leadership and Community Development Camp on the theme “Growing your dreams together” sponsored by the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Shillong held at the Bharat Scouts and Guides Campus, Shillong concluded today. The leadership camp was attended by the members of the Youth Red Cross, NYK, SOS village, Rovers and Rangers of the Bharat Scouts and Guides and students from different colleges. The activities include orienteering soft skills, personality development, first aid and disaster management and youth entrepreneurship. Besides the World Advocacy Projects like “Free Being Me”, “Messengers of Peace”, “Stop Violence against Women”, “Surf Smart” were also taken up. Others highlights of the programmes includes social evenings for cultural awareness and preservation of culture and field trip to RRTC, Umran where the participants witnessed the different trades, creating interest in them for starting their own business. |

Press Release No. 173/17 WORLD CONSUMER RIGHTS DAY The office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply) West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin celebrated today the World Consumer Rights Day on the theme “Consumer Rights in the Digital Age” at TRYSEM hall DC Office, Nongstoin. On the occasion Km. B. Ranee, EAC, West Khasi Hills District highlighted the Consumer Rights and Protection Act, where as Shri. A. Synrem District Informatics Officer West Khasi Hills District briefed the Consumer Rights in the Digital Age. The celebration was attended by Principals, college and school students, headmen, sordar and the local people. |
