SCIENCE AND ENVIRONMENTAL FAIR 2011 AT NONGPOH

Shillong, March 18, 2011: The State Council of Science, Technology and Environment, Meghalaya will organize a two day State Level Science and Environmental Fair, 2011 at Nongpoh, Ri Bhoi District, on March 22 and 23, 2011 as part of the National Science Day celebration this year. The programme will be held at Alpha Higher Secondary School, Nongpoh, from 10:00 AM onwards. The Deputy Commissioner of the District, Mr. M Kharmujai will be the Chief Guest at the inaugural function to be held on March 22, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Selected students from all the 39 blocks of the State will be participating in the two day programme.

Various science and environmental awareness activities will be organized during the event which will include a Science Hobby Camp, Astronomy and Environment Lectures, Science and Environment Quiz, Eco games and many others. A Night Sky Viewing and Science and Technology Exhibition will be the special attractions during the programme.

HOLI GREETINGS

Shillong, March 18, 2011: On the occasion of Holi, the Governor of Meghalaya conveys his greetings and good wishes to the people of Meghalaya and expressed hope that the festival of colour will be celebrated with great joy and merriment to welcome the advent of spring and that the traditional bond of friendship among the people will be further strengthened through the celebrations.
