Press Release No. 180/07 SPECIAL INTERACTIVE PROGRAMME HELD A One day Special Interactive Programme (SIP) at Saipung village, Jaintia Hills District was held on March 24, 2007, the programme was organized by the Office of the Sub Divisional Public Relations Officer (SDPRO), Khliehriat Civil Sub Division in collaboration with the Meghalaya Rural Development Society. Altogether Seven departments comprising of Agriculture, ICDS, MeSEB, Health, Saipung C & RD Block, PHE., and Fishery took part in the programme. The programme included the interactive session between the local people and the officers from the Line Departments about the various schemes and projects meant for the rural area and also answered queries posed by the public. Simultaneously, Free Eye Check Up Camp, Health Camp, Mother and Child Health Camp and Cultural programme were held in the day. More than 800 people availed the opportunities of medical check-up conducted by the Health department and Bansara Eye Clinic, Shillong. 160 babies were examined and prizes were distributed to the most healthy babies ranging form newborn to six years old. Cultural items were presented by various artistes drawn from the neighboring villages. The programme was concluded by screening of educational and entertainment films by the Office of the Assistant Director of Information and Public Relations, Jaintia Hills, Jowai. |
