Press Release No. 143/17 PUBLIC NOTICE The office of the Deputy Commissioner West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin has informed all the public residing within the jurisdiction that the district will roll out the e-service in electronic form to citizens with effect from the 6th March, 2017. Initially six services will be launched viz: Issuance of scheduled Tribe Certificate, Issuance of Scheduled Caste Certificate, Issuance of Certificate for recruitment into arm/Paramilitary/Police Force, Issuance of Permanent Residential Certificate for Higher Studies and Issuance of income Certificate. The main objective is to Citizens in available different services provided by the office of the Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills District, in a transparent and citizen – friendly environment. Applicants may apply from Common Services Centers (CSC), Kiosks, Internet Browsing Centers, Home & PFC at www.meghalaya.gov.in/megportal/edistrict. To improve citizen’s interface, relevant SMS will be triggered to the applicants during processing till completion of the Certificate. The Certificate issuing authority in West Khasi Hills District is the Deputy Commissioner, Nongstoin and the Sub-Divisional Officer, Mairang. However at this time this facility will not be available for those applicants residing within the jurisdiction of the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Mairang, which will be rolled out in due course of time. |
Press Release No. 145/17 POLICE ISSUES ADVISORY ON CYBER CRIME Of late there has been many instances in which general public are lured to part away with their debit card/credit card details like card number, pin number etc., and their hard earned money is taken away by criminals who pose themselves as Bank officials. Also some advertisements are posted in the Newspaper or Social Media where it is informed that there is a mass recruitment for any job thereby innocent job seekers are lured to deposit money in the pretext of registration fee, processing etc., or lured with handsome pay where ultimately job aspirants are dragged into human trafficking. Disturbing anti-religious/anti-national/obscene videos/pictures/messages are also being circulated/shared in masses without verifying its authenticity or realizing that the same may have adverse effects on the minds of the person receiving it. There also has been instances where facebook users were duped of huge amount of money from unknown facebook friends who pose themselves as foreign nationals and pretends to send gifts/parcels. In view of the above, general public are hereby requested not to disclose their ATM Card/Debit Card/Credit Card details to any person, as the Bank officials never make a call to its customers or ask for the details of ATM Card/Debit Card and not to fall prey to any fake job offer, not to share/circulate any disturbing/anti-religious/anti-national/obscene videos/pictures/messages in any Social Media Platform and Facebook users are advised to refuse friend request from unknown entities/strangers. Press Release No. 147/17 SECTION 144 CRPC The District Magistrate, Ri Bhoi District has issued a Prohibitory Order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting parking of commercial vehicles/coal laden trucks on the ground of Petrol Pump/Service Centres within Ri Bhoi District and parking of more than 2 (two) heavy commercial vehicles/coal laden trucks in one place all along the National Highway-6. This Order has been issued in view that unregulated parking of heavy commercial vehicles/coal laden trucks is taking place all along the National Highway-6 especially at the Petrol Pump Centre which may adversely affected the right of way of incoming and outgoing traffic and likely resultant in space constraint and congestion of the Highway. This Order has come into force and will remain so until further order. In another Order, the District Magistrate, Ri Bhoi District has issued a Prohibitory Order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting all construction and operation of the makeshift stalls all along the National Highway-6 for illicit stockpiling as well as sale of coal by all concerned. This Order has been issued in view that number of makeshift stalls have been sprung up overnight all along the National Highway-6 catering to the stockpiling and sale of coal which has been offloaded from coal laden trucks enroute for the weighbridge at 13th Mile Tamulkuchi, Byrnihat which is likewise be deem illegal for all end and purposes. |
