Press Release No. 62/12 FIXATION OF HSRP Shillong, March 5, 2012: The Commissioner of Transport, Meghalaya, Shillong has informed that fixation of High Security Registration Plate (HSRP), implemented by Government of Meghalaya from August 2006 is a mandatory provision under the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988. Violation, if any, will be dealt firmly under the relevant section of the aforesaid Act. |

Press Release No. 63/12 RECRUITMENT RALLY Shillong, March 5, 2012: The 119 Infantry Battalion (TA) Assam will conduct a recruitment rally for the post of Soldier GD, Chef and Chef (Special) for persons hailing from North Eastern Region, West Bengal and Andaman Nicobar Island on March 12-16, 2012 at Halflong, Dima Haso District, Assam from 7:00 AM onwards. The minimum educational qualification for Soldier GD is Class X passed for state of West Bengal, Assam, Tripura and Meghalaya and Class VIII for other States of North Eastern Region. For Chef (c) and Chef Special the education qualification is Class VIII passed. Age should be between 18-42 years. |

Press Release No. 64/12 SECTION 144 CRPC IMPOSED Shillong, March 5, 2012: In order to maintain public order, peace, harmony and to avoid causing inconveniences to the officers and staff working in the Secretariat and surrounding offices which may result in breach of peace, disturbance of public tranquility, the District Administration East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has promulgated an order under section 144CrPC prohibiting holding of hunger strike within a radius of 100 (One hundred) meters from the Main Secretariat Building. This order comes into force with immediate effect and until further orders. |
