Press Release No. 107/19 SPECIAL CAMPS The District Election Officer, East Khasi Hills has informed that special camps will be organised on 8th and 9th March, 2019 in all polling stations for enrolment of left out eligible electors. As part of the campaign, Booth Level Officers are directed to be present in their respective Polling Stations for distribution of Forms and receiving claims and objections. The copy of final electoral rolls will be available in the polling station so that electors can check their names in the electoral rolls. The electoral rolls will also be read out publicly during the camp to facilitate illiterate voters. |

Press Release No. 110/19 PRADHAN MANTRI SHRAM YOGI MAANDHAN PENSION SCHEME LAUNCHED The launching programme for the Pradhan Mantri Shram-Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) Pension Scheme was held today at Yojana Bhavan Auditorium, Shillong. Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister, Shri Prestone Tynsong graced the programme as Chief Guest. In his brief address, Shri Prestone Tynsong said that the pension scheme will provide the much needed financial security to unorganized sector workers. He also urged the people to come forward and avail the benefits that the Central Government is providing. It may be mentioned here that PM-SYM is a pension scheme for unorganised workers such as maids, helpers, labourers, hawkers, small shop owners whose monthly income is Rs. 15,000/- or less. To avail the scheme, the beneficiary has to be in the age group of 18-40 years. For enrolment process they have to visit a Common Service Centre (CSC) along with Aadhaar card and savings bank account. After verification, the computer will calculate the exact monthly contribution (Rs. 55/- to Rs. 200/-). During the enrolment process they have to make the first contribution by cash and sign the computer generated auto debit mandate form following which they will be provided the Shram Yogi Pension Card. The entire enrolment process takes 3 to 5 minutes only. During the programme, the Deputy Chief Minister along with other dignitaries distributed Beneficiary Cards to the beneficiaries. The programme was also attended by Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Shri Y. Tsering, Principal Secretary, Labour Department, Shri D. P. Wahlang, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills, Smti M. War Nongbri and Labour Commissioner, Shri B. Mawlong. |
