YUVA SANGAM TEAM FROM UTTAR PRADESH VISITS RAJ BHAVAN, SHILLONG

A team of youth from Uttar Pradesh under the aegis of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Mission’s Yuva Sanga today visited the Raj Bhavan, Shillong for an audience with the Governor of Meghalaya, Shri Phagu Chauhan.

In the interaction with the visiting students, Governor of Meghalaya spoke about the various aspects of the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat Mission and welcomed the visiting team from Uttar Pradesh. The Governor expressed his happiness and said, I am happy to share this opportunity with you as we all know how diverse the North Eastern region of India is. Significantly, the North-Eastern region is culturally very rich and diverse. It is sad though that the rest of India knows very little about this area. He exhorted that, it is timely and relevant that this exchange program of Yuva Sangam is taking place under the leadership of our Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji to help the rest of India to know better about the culture and customs of the North-East.

Similarly, people from North-East India will also learn a lot about the culture, customs and people of the rest of India when they visit other regions of the country. Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Yuva Sangam is focusing on conducting exposure tours for youth between the North Eastern States and the rest of India with the aim of provide them with an immersive experience of various facets of life, development landmarks, recent achievements and youth connect in the host state.

During their visits, the youth will have a multi-dimensional exposure under five broad areas – Paryatan (Tourism), Parampara (Traditions), Pragati (Development), Prodyogik (Technology) and Paraspar Sampark (People-to-people connect). The Yuva Sangam team from Uttar Pradesh which is being coordinated by Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow are being hosted by the North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong.
