NOTIFICATION

The Principal Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Labour Department in a notification issued on 30th March, 2020 has informed that submission of physical data (claim for compensation) may be made in the prescribed format to the State Emergency Operation Centre (Disaster Management) number 1070 (toll free), District Labour Offices/Block Labour Offices or by WhatsApp message to 97747-51740/87947-31937.

ORDER

The Chief Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya in an order issued on 31st March, 2020 has informed that Shri Chinmay P. Gotmare, Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Planning Department (9485098768) and Shri Cyril V.D. Diengdoh, Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Political Department (9856451339) shall function as Nodal Officers for monitoring and coordinating with other State Governments for migrant workers and students from the State of Meghalaya who are stranded in other States. Shri Bhupesh Hajong, Joint Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Revenue and Disaster Management (9436113592) and Shri Larry Rymbai, Executive Assistant, PIU-3, MSSDS (9856024237) will assist the Nodal Officers

ORDER

The Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Political Department has informed that the Government of Meghalaya being satisfied that in the public interest it is necessary to do so in view of extreme urgency to help contain possibility of outbreak and spread of the COVID-19 into the State, has prohibited strikes in any essential services in order to prevent any disruption and breakdown of emergency services to the public. This order shall come into force with immediate effect and will remain in force for a period of six months.

NOTICE

The Superintendent of Police (F&ES), Meghalaya in a press release issued on 30th March, 2020 has informed that despite the lockdown in the State, there has been number of fire incidents, mostly forest fire at various locations in and around Shillong city, most of which are caused due to lighting of fire and leaving it unattended. This may be done by some miscreants on purpose or due to ignorance which could lead to disaster. While the State is working continuously against the novel COVID-19 for the safety of the people of the State, the Superintendent of Police (F&ES) requests all the Rangbah Shnong, Rangbah Dong, Secretary Shnong of the respective localities to be vigilant and prohibit people from venturing out in the forest areas within their jurisdictions. Further, random smoking at public places, starting of unwanted fire should be strictly prohibited in order to mitigate loss of life and property from fire related disaster.

BSNL OFFERS FREE VALIDITY EXTENSION AND TALK TIME DURING LOCKDOWN

In view of the hardships faced by the mobile subscribers whose validity has expired during the lockdown period from 22nd March, 2020 and are not able to recharge for extension of validity, BSNL as a support to its mobile subscribers is extending the validity of all such subscribers up to 20th April, 2020, free of cost, so that the subscribers continue to receive incoming calls. In addition to this, BSNL is also giving free talk time of Rs. 10/- to all such subscribers who reach zero balance during the lockdown period. These facilities are extended to facilitate communication by BSNL mobile subscribers in emergency. CGMT NE-I Circle, BSNL, Shri B. Chandra Sehkar said, BSNL firmly stands with its subscribers during this crisis period and we request the subscribers to ‘Go Digital’ for recharging their accounts. Several options available for recharge include MyBSNL mobile app, BSNL website and other popular wallet services.

PRESS RELEASE

The Assistant Inspector General of Police (A), Meghalaya, Shillong has informed that 7 members of Shillong Markaz who attended the Tablighi Jamaat Meet in Nizamuddin, Delhi have not returned to Meghalaya. Out of these 7 members, 5 are currently in Delhi and 2 are in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Officials of Meghalaya Police had also contacted these 7 members of Shillong Markaz and they confirmed that they have not returned to Meghalaya. The presence of these members in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh has been conveyed to the police officials of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
