The Principal Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Labour Department in a notification issued on 1st April, 2020 has informed that submission of data (claim for compensation) may be made to the following WhatApps Nos: (i) 6009924512 for East Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills Districts (ii) 6009907400 for West Garo Hills, South Garo Hills and South West Garo Hills Districts, (iii) 6009908007 for West Khasi Hills, South West Khasi Hills and Ri Bhoi Districts, (iv) 6009964843 for East Garo Hills and North Garo Hills Districts and (v) Email id: sdmalachmier@gmail.com. Further, the Principal Secretary has informed that data already sent have been accepted and the last date for submission is 8th April, 2020.

NOTIFICATION

The Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Health and Family Welfare Department has informed that Shri Ram Kumar S, Joint Secretary and Mission Director, National Health Mission, Meghalaya has been notified as the Nodal Officer in connection with sending of information of the persons need to be quarantined based on their travel history with immediate effect.

PSYCHOSOCIAL CARE TEAM SET UP

In view of the ongoing crisis on COVID-19, the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District has informed the general public that a team of psychosocial care providers/counselors has been set up to provide counseling to people who are in need of psychosocial care. Psychosocial care and support will be extended to victims of the pandemic and their care givers including their family members who may exhibit symptoms of stress and mental trauma, distressed people who have been recently exposed to a serious crisis event and in need of psychosocial support and to extend support to any person exhibiting symptoms of stress, overwhelmed with emotions such as sadness, depression or anxiety, or wanting to harm others, or related symptoms on account of events associated with COVID-19. People who are in need of Psychosocial Support can talk to the counselors on the Helpline No. 0364-2500776/ 2500777.
