SPECIAL JOB CARD FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

A special programme was held on April 8 in the office chamber of the Block Development Officer, Thadlaskein Block, wherein Dr. Heimonmi Niang addressed on the right of persons with disabilities in particular about the Special Job card under MGNERA.

He said, normally each family gets a job card to access work under MGNERA scheme, however in case families with such members, in addition to the job card that each family received, those with disabilities should receive a separate job card. Dr. Heimonmi urged VEC Secretaties and Block staff to ensure that no person with disability is denied this right. He also the persons with disabilities to visit the office if they encounter any difficulties.

Smt. Ripnar Shylla, APO of Thadalskein Block, explained to the persons with disabilities that they should meet their VEC Secretaries and provide documents such as EPIC, Aadhaar, passport photograph and others so that they can get their job card. Ripnar said that in the past few days, the office of BDO Thadlaskein has been able to hand over job cards to some of the residents of the block who are visually impaired.

Dr. H.H. Mohrmen, Secretary of SURE, expressed his gratitude to the office of BDO for their hard work. Krishna Phawa from Mihmyntdu and Heiobitmi Tre Dhar from Wahiajer who are visually impaired also spoke.
