Press Release No. 182/11 NATIONAL BRAVERY AWARD Shillong, April 12, 2011: The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Mr. M Kharmujai today the 12th April , 2011 handed over the National Bravery Award received from the President of India which is known as the Jeevan Raksha Padak Award to Fredy Nongsiej, a 10 years old boy of Umran Niangbyrnia village in recognition of his life saving act. The award include the certificate, two medals and bank draft of Rs. 30,000/- It may be mentioned here that Nongsiej rescued the life of his friend Kyrshan Kurbah who drowned while taking a bath at river Umran on Mrach 27, 2010. |
