GRIEVANCE-CUM-CONTROL ROOMS SET UP FOR CENSUS OPERATION AT JAINTIA HILLS

Shillong, April 14, 2010: The Deputy Commissioner and Principle Census Officer, Jaintia Hills District, Jowai has informed that the Grievances-cum-Control Rooms has been set up for the purpose of the census operations with effect from the 1st April 2010 up to 31st March 2011 in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Jowai, Office of the Sub-Divisional Officer (C), Khliehriat and Amlarem, Officer of B.D.O, Khliehriat, Saipung, Laskein, Thadlaskein and Office of the Chief Executive Officer, Jowai. These Census cells shall dispose complaints when received from the general public regarding non-convergence of their area during census, errors or omitting in taking down the details correctly by Enumerators or Supervisors and any other matter relating to census operations.

NOTIFICATION

Shillong, April 14, 2010: The Government of Meghalaya has constituted a Sub-Committee of the State Task Force for promoting Meghalaya as a Film Destination. The Sub-Committee will be headed by the Commissioner and Secretary, Department of Commerce and Industries and Convener and Member Secretary, State Task Force (STF) as the Chairman, the Director of Information and Public Relations, Shillong, Director of Industries and Director of Tourism as Members and the Officer on Special Duty STF as Member Secretary.

The term of reference of the Sub-Committee of the State Task Force for promoting Meghalaya as Film Destination shall be to frame the draft policy for branding Meghalaya as a film destination, the policy emphasis should be given to creation of service providers viz reliable and affordable transport, accommodation, medical facilities, catering facilities, local talents, tours operators where local entrepreneurs could be involved with support for creating infrastructure by exploring the possibilities of offering hand holding assistance in the form of back-end subsidy which should be administered from State plan, identify location and other related activities as may come up or be envisaged.
