ARWWA ORGANISES AIDS AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

To combat the spread of AIDS in the North Eastern Region, the Assam Rifles Wives Welfare Association (ARWWA) is organising a three-day awareness campaign called “Commitment” in Shillong. A galaxy of film stars like Shilpa Shetty, Dipti Naval, Seema Biswas, Revathy, Purab Kohli, actor and producer Sanjay Suri and director Onir are expected to take part in this campaign which includes film festival, seminar, talk show and road show. Rajya Sabha MP and Former Chief Minister of Jammu & Kashmir, Dr. Farooq Abdullah will be inaugurating the campaign at Anjalee Cinema Hall on April 22, 2005.

HOLIDAY DECLARED FOR VOTERS OF 9-TURA GDC SEAT

To enable voters to exercise their franchise, all State Government Offices and Educational Institutions falling under the 9-Tura District Council Constituency of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council and those governed by NI Act shall be closed on April 26, 2005 being the date of poll to the bye election of the said District Council constituency.
