Press Release No. 573/17 SECTION 144 CRPC The District Magistrate, East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat has promulgated an Order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting fresh mining of coal and illegal transportation of coal in the entire District. All coal laden truck should possess transportation challan, Royalty challan and other related documents. No coal trucks are to carry coal beyond the permissible limit and no rampant dumping of coal on the road side along the National Highway-44 and PWD roads. The Order also prohibits assembly of Persons or Groups of people and carrying of arms and lethal weapons that may likely to cause injury. The Order is necessitated in view that mining of coal is still being carried out in the District and rampant dumping of coal along the roadside of NH-44 and PWD roads is continuing, and that coal trucks originating from East Jaintia Hills are transporting coal without proper challan/documents etc and carrying coal beyond the permissible limit. Anyone, if detected or found violating the above stipulated conditions will be dealt with sternly as per provisions of the Law. (These will include coal mines owners, Labourers, Truck owners, Drivers etc). This Order shall come into force with immediate effect and until further Orders. |
Press Release No. 574/17 DEWORMING DAY The Government of Meghalaya under the Health & Family Welfare Department and National Health Mission is launching a fixed one-day school-based program to ensure intensive deworming coverage and targeted outreach in all the Districts of Meghalaya. In East Garo Hills, East Jaintia Hills, East Khasi Hills, North Garo Hills, South Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills, South West Khasi Hills, West Garo Hills, West Jaintia Hills and West Khasi Hills Districts, the Deworming Day and the Mop-up Day will be on 3rd May, 2017 and 10th May, 2017 respectively. In Ri Bhoi District, the Deworming Day is scheduled for 27th April, 2017 and the Mop-up Day will be on 3rd May, 2017. For those children who could not be dewormed on Deworming Day, they will be dewormed on mop-up day. Deworming Tablets – Albendazole – will be given free of cost to all children in the age group of 1-19 years in Government Schools and Government aided schools and in Anganwadi Centres for out-of-school children. Children in the age group of 1-2 years will be given half a tablet of Albendazole (400mg), and for children above the age of 2 years are given 1 full tablet of Albendazole (400mg) to chew. The State Health Department and National Health Mission urges all parents of children 1 to 19 years of age who have not been dewormed to kindly come forward and avail the services provided for them. Press Release No. 576/17 DISTRICT CONTACT CENTRE ESTABLISHED AT TURA For the purpose of providing seamless interface to provide quality service to citizens and other stakeholders on election matters the District Contact Centre (DCC) has been established at the office of the Deputy Commissioner (Election), West Garo Hills (Additional Building at DC Office Premises). This was informed by the Deputy Commissioner (Election), West Garo Hills, Tura. The contact number of DCC is (03651) 1950/222000 and mail is electiontura@gmail.com. It may be mentioned that the function of the DCC is to take calls directly at (03651) 1950/ 222000, handle all the UPGRMS complaints and respond to citizens on the portal, maintain the list of all responsible officials like ERO/ AERO/RO, etc, to regularly monitor the progress and status of all emails and call logs and to take all calls redirected from National Contact Centre/ State Contact Centre and respond promptly for all type of issues or queries. Mr. David Cooper Kharpuri, Sr ASE, Mr. Jackie R Marak, ASE, Ms Sherin Ch Momin, DEO, Mr. Carry A Sangma, DEO and Mr. Murfy Chingsrang K Sangma, DEO are the officials who will man the DCC on all working days during office hours. |
