STATE LEVEL COMMITTEE CONSTITUTED

A State Level Committee to enquire into complaints regarding sexual harassment of women at shops, factories and commercial establishments has been constituted by the Government of Meghalaya, which will be headed by the Labour Commissioner as the Chairperson. The members of the Committee includes the Chief Inspector of Boilers and Factories, Director of Industries, Meghalaya, Chairperson of Meghalaya State Social Welfare Advisory Board, Shillong, Nursing Superintendent, DIIS, Ganesh Das Hospital, Shillong, President Impulse NGO Shillong, Young Women Christian Association, President, Mother’s Union, Tura while its Member Secretary is the Under Secretary, Labour Department.

This was informed by the Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Labour Department.
