UNCLAIMED DEAD BODY LYING IN SHILLONG CIVIL HOSPITAL MORGUE

The Joint Director of Health Services (SS), Civil Hospital, Shillong has informed that a 44 year old male patient named Kandura Boro, a labourer by occupation, C/o Najing Marak (friend), Pynthorumkhrah, Shillong was admitted in Male Surgical Ward-II, Bed No. 1 at Civil Hospital, Shillong on 18.04.2017 at 08:32 PM where he expired on 25.04.2017 at 12:25 PM. All concerned relatives, etc. are requested to collect the dead body from the Shillong Civil Hospital Morgue within 3 days failing which the dead body will be send for disposal by the Shillong Municipal Board.

JOWAI MUNICIPAL BOARD CALLS FOR COOPERATION TO KEEP JOWAI CLEAN

As the entire country is at present participating in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Movement), the Chief Executive Officer of Jowai Municipal Boar, Jowai has appealed all the citizens of Jowai to join hands with the Office of Jowai Municipal Board to keep Jowai Town Clean. With regards to this, the Jowai Municipal Board has requested all citizens of Jowai to cooperate with the Office to properly segregate their domestic waste into degradable and non- degradable waste in their household and to dispose the segregated waste in the municipal vehicles. The citizens are requested not to litter the roads, not to dispose the garbage on open space, road sides, street corners, drains and water bodies and also not to urinate or defecate in the open. Citizens are also requested not to burn garbage, if found, anyone burning waste or garbage on the open space shall be liable for penalty of Rs.5000 as per the offence. The office has further requested the citizens of Jowai to assist the office and report if anyone is found disposing garbage on open space, roadsides, street corners, drains and water bodies. The Chief Executive Officer of Jowai Municipal Board has also instructed all shopkeepers to ensure that the area within 5 Meters from their shops, establishments are free from garbage and litter. If any garbage is found in front of any shop or commercial establishment, the proprietor or manager will be penalized with a fine of Rs. 5000 and above.

CLEAN COOKING FUEL TO POOR RURAL HOUSEHOLDS

The office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Khasi Hills District, Nongstoin has informed to the general public, that the Government of India has launched Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) with an objective of providing clean cooking fuel to poor rural households. With the introduction of PMUY, the dependence on wood for cooking is expected to come down and it will vastly improve the health of women folk. LPG connections under this scheme will be released in the name of women belonging to the BPL family. For new LPG connection, cash assistance to the tune of Rs. 1600/- will be given which will cover the initial cost i.e. security deposit (Rs. 1250/-), regulator (Rs. 150/-), hose pipe (Rs. 150/-), administrative charges (Rs. 50/-), stove with 2 burners costing Rs. 999/- and 1st cylinder refill costing Rs. 591/- (approx) will have to be borne by the beneficiary. EMI facility is also available. In a short time, awareness camps will be organized in all parts of the District. In PMUY camp, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) will do Mass awareness about PMUY, share list of eligible beneficiaries, awareness on safe usage of LPG like placing the cylinder on a pedestal and having the stove above cylinder and educating the people about the insurance coverage and EMI facility under the PMUY scheme. Women from BPL households, who does not have access to LPG connection, may apply for a new LPG connection (in prescribed format) to the LPG distributor in Nongstoin i.e. M/s Ailang Gas Agency. While submitting the application form, the beneficiary will have to submit details like address, bank account and Aadhar number (optional) etc. Only those families whose names are there in the SECC list will be considered. The connection shall be issued by the OMC to the eligible beneficiaries after completion of necessary field verification. It is also informed that the office of the Deputy Commissioner (supply) will be issuing only the application forms and not the LPG connection. Once the Ministry gives a go ahead for Meghalaya, then only the connections will be issued. RICE RELEASED, SK OIL PRICE REVISED

The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Jaintia Hills District has informed that AAY, NFSA (PHH) and Non- NFSA quota of rice for the month of April, 2017 and ISS Sugar for the month of November, 2016 has been released. Antyodaya Anna Yojna (AAY) quota of rice will be distributed at the scale of 35 Kgs per AAY F.I Card at the rate of Rs.3/- per Kg for both Rural and Town areas for Priority House Hold (PHH) the quota of rice will be distributed at the scale of 5 kgs per head per month at the rate of Rs. 3/- per kg and for Non-NFSA quota of rice will be distributed at the scale of 10 Kgs 500 grams per household at the rate fixed by the Vigilance Committee not to exceed Rs. 13/- per Kg. ISS Sugar will be distributed at the scale of 599 grams per head per month at the rate of Rs. 30/- per Kg for both Rural and Town areas. Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), West Jaintia Hills District has also informed that consequent upon the revision in the price of Oil, the press note which was issued earlier stands cancelled and new price has been revised and fixed with immediate effect. Wholesale price from Jowai and Thadlaskein Depot will be at Rs. 19.75 per litre. Wholesale price from Shangpung outlet will be at Rs. 21.90 per litre. The Retail price in Retail Centres from Jowai and Thadlaskein S. K Oil Depot will be at Rs. 21.70/- per litre and Retail price in Retail centres from Shangpung S.K Oil outlet is Rs.24/- per litre

NOTICE

The Chief Executive Officer, Jowai Municipal Board has informed the general public and all concerned that the Hon’ble National Green Tribunal (NGT) Eastern Zone Bench Kolkata has directed to stop all activities like washing of car, discharge of effluent etc in Myntdu River. It has also banned operation of all car washing centres located on both sides of the Myntdu River and to stop all construction in and around Myntdu River Basin.
