Press Release No. 331/20 DEFERMENT OF SALARY The Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Government of Meghalaya has informed that the current unprecedented situation owing to COVID-19 and the accompanying lockdown is likely to cause reduction in flow of tax and non-tax revenues of the State, the tax and non-tax revenue collected for April, 2020 is very less compared to last year and the tax devolution from Government of India for April, 2020 was also 76 crores less than the budget estimates besides there is every likelihood that the size of the devolution in the coming months could be reduced. The Additional Chief Secretary in a press release issued on 28th April, 2020 informed that therefore, there is a need for the State to manage its finances more carefully and to keep adequate funds for dealing with any health or relief related emergency. Accordingly, there shall be deferment of 50 percent in the gross salary, in respect of the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister, Ministers, All India Services Officers, viz. IAS, IPS, IFS and Central Services officers on deputation to the State Government. There shall also be deferment of 35 percent in the gross salary of Group A and B officers and 25 percent in respect of Group C staff of all departments except all the officers and staff of the Departments of Health and family Welfare and the Group C employee of Home (Police) and Home (Civil Defence and Home Guards). The proportion of the deferment for Group A, B and C employees will also be applicable to all the institutions being provided Grant-in-aid, Salary, by the State Government except for Group C employees of the Municipal Boards. The deferment of salaries of Government employees will be for April, 2020 to be paid in May, 2020 and May, 2020 to be paid in June, 2020. No deferment shall be made in the salary of Group D employees and payment of Pensions. It is to be noted that above measures are only for deferment of salaries, meaning that the deductions will be paid back to the employees after the economic and fiscal situation improves. |
Press Release No. 332/20 STATE LEVEL DISCHARGE COMMITTEE CONSTITUTED The Government of Meghalaya has constituted a State Level Discharge Committee relating to COVID-19 patients and persons under quarantine with Secretary, Health & Family Welfare Department as Chairperson, DHS (MI), Meghalaya as Member Secretary and members comprising of Mission Director, NHM, Dr. N. Wanswet, Medical Superintendent, Ganesh Das Government MCH Hospital, Shillong and DHS (R), Dr. H. Giri, Additional DHS (MCH & FW), Dr. A. Dkhar, Senior Specialist (GM), Civil Hospital, Shillong, Dr. N. Roy, SMO, W.H.O., Dr. S. S. Nongbri, Joint DHS (SS), Civil Hospital, Shillong, Dr. Michael Mawlong, Microbiologist, Nazareth Hospital, Shillong and Dr. Vijay Nongpiur, Nodal Officer, COVID-19, NEIGRIHMS. The Committee shall be guided by the COVID-19 Patients Discharge Protocol issued by the Government. This was informed by the Commissioner & Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department. |
