Press Release No. 173/10 ARMY RECRUITMENT RALLY TO BE HELD AT NONGPOH Shillong, April 30, 2010: The Army will conduct a Recruitment Rally at the District Sports Stadium, Nongpoh, Ri Bhoi District from May 11 to May 16 2010 for all districts of Meghalaya for enrolment of male candidates in Soldier General Duty and Soldier Clerk/Soldier Storekeeper Technical categories only. For the post of Soldier General Duty, the screening will be held on May 11, 2010 at 6:00 AM for candidates hailing from Ri Bhoi, East Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hill whereas for candidates hailing from East, West, South Garo Hills and Jaintia Hills, screening will be held on May 12, 2010 at 6:00 AM. For the category of Soldier Clerk/Storekeeper Technical, screening will be held on May 13, 2010 at 6:00 AM and candidates who are sons of serving soldiers ex servicemen widows and war widows and NCC, screening will he held on May 14, 2010 at 6:00 AM. For selected candidates, Medical Examination will be held from May 11 to May 16, 2010 and Common entrance Examination for Soldier General Duty category will be held at the Army School Senior Wing, Shillong on May 30, 2010. Candidates appearing for the Recruitment Rally should be between 17 year 6 months to 21 years as on screening date. For ST candidates should be class 8 pass, while Non ST and other castes should be Class 10 simple pass and outside settlers should be class 10 pass with aggregates marks of 45 percent and above with height criteria of parent state. For the post of Soldier Clerks/Storekeeper Technical, candidates should be between 17 year 6 months to 21 years as on screening date and should have completed 10+2/intermediate exams from any stream Arts, Commerce and Science with minimum of 50 percent marks in aggregate and 45 percent marks in each subject. Candidates must have studied English and Maths / Accounts/Book keeping as compulsory subjects at 10th/12th standard. Candidates are required to produce, in original and attested photo copy of Educational Qualification Certificate, Matric/10+12/intermediate certificates such as admit cads, etc, caste certificate (ST,SC,OBC&MOBC), PRC/Domicile Certificate/Character Certificate,10 copies of passport size coloured photographs, discharge book proving candidates is son of war widows/widows/ex servicemen or relationship certificate in case of sons of serving soldiers. Certificates such as NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ and sports certificates of having represented the National or State issues by recognized organization will help garner bonus points. |

Press Release No. 178/10 CHIEF MINISTER ALL INDIA SERVICE EXAMS INCENTIVE SCHEME INTRODUCED Shillong, April 30, 2010: With an aim to give incentives and encourage youth hailing from Meghalaya, to compete successfully in the All India Services Exams, an Incentive Scheme has been formulated. This scheme, which will be known as the Chief Minister’s All India Service Exams Incentive Scheme, Meghalaya will support such youths in the Annual Civil Services Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). All youth hailing from Meghalaya are eligible for the incentive cash scheme. A cash award of Rs. 5000/- will be awarded to any candidate who successfully appears and passes the Civil Service (Preliminary) conducted by the UPSC, subject to production of a PRC duly issued by a competent authority such as a District Magistrate. If the candidate goes on to clear the Main Examination, he or she shall be eligible for a cash award of Rs. 10,000/- in addition to the Rs. 5000/- received for clearing the Preliminary Examination. The incentive however shall be given only once to a candidate. Additionally, candidates who have passed the AIS preliminary exams will also be eligible for reimbursement of actual course fee paid by any recognized coaching Institute in the country, not exceeding Rs. 20,000/- to be credited to the concerned coaching Institute. Candidates who have successfully qualified themselves for the Civil Services (Main) Examination in addition to the above incentives will also be entitled a two way air fair (to and fro) from the address to New Delhi for the purpose of appearing before the Interview Board at UPSC. All such candidates who are eligible to receive cash awards shall submit their claims to the Director, Higher and Technical Education, Government of Meghalaya, mentioning their educational qualifications, Centre of Examinations, Roll Number, date of Examinations, permanent address along with original admit cards and intimation of results by the UPSC to enable them to avail the incentives. Application forms shall be available in the office of the Director, Higher and Technical Education, Additional Secretariat, Shillong, Meghalaya. |
