SK OIL DISTRIBUTED

The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has informed the public consumers of Shillong Sadar Sub-Division that S. K. Oil for the month of April 2006 is being distributed through the S. K. Oil Retailers to all Family Identity Card holders in Urban area and households under Rural area. For Urban areas, the scale is 09 litres per F. I. Card and for Rural areas it is 04 litres per household at the rate of Rs. 9.75p excluding transport charge and handling charge to be determined by the Local Headman/Vigilance Committee both Urban and Rural areas.

Any non-supply of S. K. Oil by the Retailers may be brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong along with the details.

HOME MINISTER VISITS NONGSTOIN

Meghalaya Home Minister, etc. Mr. H D R Lyngdoh today visited West Khasi Hills District Headquarter, Nongstoin to assess the damage cause by the cyclonic storm that hit Nongstoin and its adjoining areas on April 2, 2006. Mr. Lyngdoh was accompanied by Mrs. I Lyngdoh, MLA, Mr. B L Buam, IGP, Mr. K L Tariang, Deputy Commissioner, West Khasi Hills and other government officials.

During his interaction with the various Heads of Department held at the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Lyngdoh invited the people of the area to cooperate with the district administration and assist in their attempt to provide relief work to the affected people. He also informed that the Government has sanction Rs .50.000/- each to the family, who have lost their loves one in this natural disaster. Mr. Lyngdoh also emphasized that, people should extend their helping hand to the Government machineries so as to restore normalcy in the entire District. The Civil Hospital which is badly affected by cyclonic storm will be temporarily house at the Tuberculosis Hospital, Nongstoin, Mr. Lyngdoh informed.
