Press Release No. 238/17 ONE DAY SENSITIZATION PROGRAMME ON RISING CRIME AGAINST CHILDREN AND WOMEN In order to help children identify danger signs and understand ways to tackle crimes and avoid dangers, a One Day Sensitization Programme on Rising Crime against Children and Women for Secondary and Higher Secondary Students and Teachers was held today at U Soso Tham Auditorium. The programme was organised by the Directorate of Educational Research and Training, Shillong. The day long programme saw a detailed presentation by the resource persons on the topics namely, Introduction on the different types of crime on children and women by Smti M. Warjri, District Child Protection Officer, Social Welfare Department, Different Acts/Rights pertaining to crime committed on children and women by Smti M. Kharkongor, Chairperson, State Commission for Protection of Child’s Rights, Legal Aspect on crime against children and women by Smti Rebina Subba, Advocate & Member, Meghalaya State Commission for Women, and Cyber Crime leading to crime against children and women by I. Jyrwa, S.I, S. Chyne, S.I. and D.M. Marboh, S.I, C.I.D. Shri T. G. Momin, Director, Educational Research & Training, Smti S. Hynniewta, Sr. Lecturer, DERT and Smti C.Y. Kharmalki, Lecturer, DERT was also present at the programme. |
Press Release No. 239/17 DEBORAH LAYS FOUNDATION STONE FOR RONGSAKGRE HS SCHOOL Meghalaya Minister for School Education and Literacy, Smti Deborah C. Marak today laid the foundation stone for Rongsakgre Higher Secondary School under Supporting Human Development Project assisted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), in the presence of Parliamentary Secretary in-charge of PWD (Building), Shri Brigady N Marak and the Director of School Education and Literacy, Shri Ambrose Ch Marak. The Minister informed the gathering that the project came through the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for construction of school buildings and under this project, schools buildings are being constructed in different C&RD Blocks of the state. She also informed that under this project, various equipments are being provided to the schools and skill development trainings also are being imparted to the teachers. Parliamentary Secretary in-charge of PWD (Buildings), Shri Brigady N Marak said that with the construction of the school under this project, the student community of the region are expected to receive the maximum benefit as they will be able to pursue the higher secondary level of education in Rongsak itself. He also informed the gathering that Rs.2.42 crores had been sanctioned under the project for construction of the school building. Director of School Education and Literacy, Shri Ambrose Ch Marak, while speaking on the occasion informed that so far 117 schools has received assistance from the ADB under the project. He also informed that under this project, besides the facility for smart class, computers and furnitures also will be provided to the school and asked the people to join hands with the government to bring more developmental schemes to the region. |
Press Release No. 240/17 ENROLMENT PERIOD FOR MIGRATING TO GST EXTENDED The Office of the Commissioner of Taxes, Government of Meghalaya has informed that the enrolment period for all existing tax payers in the GSTN portal has been extended till 30th April, 2017. Those taxpayers registered newly in February & March, 2017 will be provided the Provisional ID and access token shortly for enrolment in May, 2017. All tax payers who have already enrolled or are enrolling need to sign the enrolment form by using Digital Signature Certificate or e-sign from Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) or National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL). |
