Press Release No. 141/10 STATE LEVEL EXHIBITION CUM SALE INAUGURATED Shillong, April 9, 2010: A State Level Exhibition Cum Sale was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner of Jaintia Hills District, Mr. T. Dkhar on April 7, 2010 in a well attended function held at the playground of Ladthalaboh LP School. The exhibition was organised by the Women’s group, Multipurpose Cooperative Society Mookyndeng, Jaintia Hills District, Jowai. While speaking as the Guest of Honour, Mr. Babul Mandal, State Director of KVIC, Shillong said that the Khadi and Village Industries Commission is the nodal agency for the Centre, however he informed bamboo activities in Meghalaya is developing very fast and said that marketing in this sector can improve rapidly. |

Press Release No. 143/10 DISTRICT SCIENCE EXHIBITION INAUGURATED Shillong, April 9, 2010: A two day District Science Exhibition under the theme “Science and Technology for Global Sustainability” was inaugurated on April 8, 2010 by the Meghalaya Parliamentary Secretary PWD etc, Mr. S Dhar at Government Girls Secondary School, Jowai. The Programme was organised by the Office of the Inspector of School, Jaintia Hills District. Mrs. C Slong, Inspector of School, chaired the inaugural function. 20 schools form different parts of the district participated in the Exhibition Addressing the function, Mr. S Dhar said that students being the backbone of the Nation should work closely with teachers for their all round development. He urged upon the students to develop the habit of obedience, sincerity and hard work to succeed in life. He lauded the effort of the school authorities for organizing the Exhibition on the said theme creating awareness on issues essential to the survival of mankind. |
