ENTERPRISE FACILITATION CENTRE TO BE INAUGURATED AT MAWPHLANG

Shillong, April 9, 2013: The Basin Development Unit, East Khasi Hills District under the Meghalaya Integrated Basin Development & Livelihood Promotion Programme will open its third ‘Enterprise Facilitation Centre’ on April 11, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Mawphlang C & RD Block. The centre will be inaugurated by the Executive Director, MBDA, Mr. D Vijay Kumar.

IDENTIFICATION OF DEAD BODY

Shillong, April 9, 2013: The Superintendent of Police, East Khasi Hills has informed that on 03.04.2013 at about 6:30 PM, Geeta Chetri (30) of Polo Bazar, Shillong was brought to Ganesh Das Hospital by a 108 Ambulance but she was declared brought dead by the Medical Officer. The said dead body is kept in the Civil Hospital Morgue Room for identification.

WEST GARO HILLS DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION WARNED FKGJP

Shillong April 9, 2013: In view of the indefinite night road blockade called by the FKJGP, Garo Hills Unit from tonight, the District Administration, West Garo Hills unit convened an emergency meeting with the agitating NGO and others NGO including senior citizens, Tura Merchant Association and others today afternoon at DRDA conference hall, Tura. During the meeting the District Administration and along with other NGOs present appeal to FKGJP to call off the proposed agitation considering the adverse effect it would have on general public.

However, despite the appeals, the FKJGP decided to go ahead with the road blockade in the entire Garo Hills. After the prolong discussion over the issue, the District Administration warned the agitating NGO not to take law into their own hand and further make it clear that if anybody resort to any form of violence action would be taken as per law.
