HEALTH MINISTER FLAGS OFF VACCINE VANS AT MAWKYRWAT

Shillong, 2 April, 2015: Meghalaya Health & Family Welfare Minister Mr. A.L. Hek flags off two Vaccine Vans for South West Khasi Hills District, Mawkyrwat, in a formal programme organised by the office of the District Medical & Health Officer, Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills, on April 02, 2015, at the Multipurpose Hall, DC Office.

Addressing the gathering Mr. A. L. Hek informed that the Government of India through the State Health Department had initiated immunisation programme to reach every corners of the District in particular and the State as a whole by providing Vaccine Vans. He called upon the general public to take advantage of the facilities offered and get their children periodicals vaccinated to help them grow healthy. He added that vaccination helps the child to develop strong body resistance to fight against any kinds of diseases. He quoted that Health is Wealth, therefore, it’s high time for people to realise the importance of having sound health, to grow up to be healthy citizen.

Two Asha’s and ANM of Ranikor and Mawkyrwat Block were awarded for their dedicated service.

Synrem, Secretary Health & Family Welfare cum Mission Director National Health Mission, Meghalaya, Dr. (Mrs). P. Chyne, State Immunization Officer, Meghalaya, Dr. R. Donn, District Medical & Health Officer. The programme was chaired by Smt. R. Iangrai ADC, while Dr. P. Kharduit offered the vote of thanks.
