Press Release No. 196/10 LASUBON FESTIVAL 2010 Shillong May 10, 2010: The Department of Tourism will be organizing the Lasuboon Festival 2010 on the 14th and 15th May 2010 at the Mawphlang Sacred Grove. The purpose for holding this festival is to create a Village Setting showcasing the culture and tradition, handloom and handicraft, indigenous products and cuisine of the State. The programmes will include traditional songs and dances, sale and demonstration of handicraft items, flowers, pottery, beekeeping, loofah processing, weaves, zorbing and other adventure sports, fashion show followed by a rock concert. Guided tours and treks in the Sacred Grove and David Scotts Trail will be conducted. |
