Press Release No. 170/12 DR MUKUL SANGMA VISITS MAWKYRWAT SUB DIVISION Shillong, May 15, 2012: Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma today visited Mawkyrwat Civil Sub-Division prior to formal inauguration of a New District declared recently among the four Districts which included Mawkyrwat Sub-Division, Khliehriat, Ampati and Resubelpara Sub-Division and attended a public meeting organized by the Mawkyrwat District Demand Committee at C&RD Block premises, Mawkyrwat in presence of Dr D.D.Lapang, Adviser to the Government, Mr Rowell Lyngdoh, the Deputy Chief Minister who is also the local MLA of Mawkyrwat, Mr P.Tynsong, Minister of Forest and Environment, Mr E.K.Raswai MDC, Mr M.Nongrem MDC, Mr C.Lyngdoh MDC, Mr S.Kharlyngdoh, Deputy Commissioner West Khasi Hills District. While speaking as the chief guest at a huge public gathering, Dr Mukul expressed his happiness for being able to fulfill the expectation of the people of the state and reiterated that the government had a solemn promise to bring changes in all developmental activities for all the areas of the state for the benefit of the people. The Chief Minister also stated that the Government under his leadership had taken strong steps in making people friendly policy adding that the new flagship programmes of the state would be beneficial for the people of the state. He said that the financial aspect under the scheme would be properly monitored and release through the respective Deputy Commissioners of the Districts for sensitization and ensuring the implementation for the benefit of all the people particularly in the rural areas. He therefore, expressed his hope that with the creation of more Districts in the state, people would be getting better governance and development in all spheres of activities. The Chief Minister also appealed to all officials to dedicate themselves to their commitments so that the people of the state especially in the rural areas avail the equitable benefit of the developmental schemes of the government. Moreover, the Chief Minister urged upon the youths and the people to extend their cooperation with the government in maintaining peace and harmony for over all development of the state. He also informed that the inauguration of the New District will be held in the month of June. Later, the Chief Minister also laid the base of the Gallery of Mawlangwir Sports Club at Saitsnad playground. |
