Press Release No. 180/14 ORDER UNDER SECTION 144 CR PC Shillong, 15 May 2014: The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong has promulgated an order under Section 144 Cr PC prohibiting rat hole mining/ illegal mining activity and any illegal transportation of coal throughout the entire East Khasi Hills District. This is in compliance with the order of the National Green Tribunal, Principal Bench, New Delhi in the State of Meghalaya in order to prevent danger to human life, health and safety and to protect the environment. This order shall take immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders. |
