Press Release No. 298/15 1ST ECO-HATCHERY INAUGURATED AT MAKBILKOL VILLAGE Shillong, May 15, 2015: The 1st Eco-Hatchery at Makbilkol village under Ranikor C&RD Block in South West Khasi Hills District was formally inaugurated on 13th May, 2015 by the local MLA, Shri M. M. Danggo in presence of Deputy Commissioner, Smti. R. Lyngdoh, Director of Fisheries, Smti. I. R. Sangma and other state and district government officials. Addressing the gathering, Shri Danggo congratulated the beneficiary, Shri Teinamsuk Nongtnger for his effort and far sightedness to set up the Hatchery in the area which is of great importance in the present world context. He added that the Hatchery is expected to be able to cater to the needs and requirements of the locals. Smti. R. Lyngdoh, Deputy Commissioner urged upon the farmers and local people to follow the example set up by the beneficiary and to make use of the facilities of the Government in a benefitting manner and stressed upon the need for proper utilization of the schemes available for the betterment of the people at large. |
