ADDITIONAL LIST OF CANDIDATES FOR APPOINTMENT OF UB CONSTABLES TO BE RELEASED

Shillong, May 24, 2011: The Superintendent of Police-cum-Member Secretary, District Selection Board, East Khasi Hills District has informed that the additional list of successful candidates for appointment to the post of UB Constable in the Eastern Range held in the month of February, 2010 will be displayed in the Notice Board of the office of the respective District Superintendent of Police in the State of Meghalaya along with the district wise allotment within Eastern Range.

As far as East Khasi Hills District is concern, the list will be displayed in the Notice Board at Police Reserve, Shillong. All the successful candidates should join their respective place of posting on or before 15.06.2011.

FOUNDATION STONE OF 100 BEDDED HOSPITAL AT MAWKYRWAT CHC COMPLEX LAID BY CM

Shillong, May 24, 2011: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma today laid the foundation stone of the 100 bedded Hospital at Mawkyrwat CHC complex, West Khasi Hills District.

Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister, incharge Health & Family Welfare Department, Mr Rowell Lyngdoh, Parliamentary Secretary, Mr Francis P Sangma and the Political Adiviser to the CM, Dr Friday Lyngdoh, Deputy Commissioner West Khasi Hills District, Mr S Kharlyngdoh and the Additional Secretary, Health Department, Mr M R Synrem who also chaired the meeting.

It may be mentioned that the Mawkyrwat CHC which is presently functioning with limited beds for the patients will soon be upgraded into a 100 bedded hospital at an estimated cost of Rs. 8.63 Crores.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Mukul said that the Government is committed to ensure that quality health services is provide to the people of the State. He said that it is a great concern of the State Government that many patients are turning to private hospitals particularly outside the State for treatment. In this regard, the Government is making all efforts to ensure that proper health carefacilities are provided in the State to satisfaction of the patients.

Dr Mukul also stated that the health indicators like Maternity Mortality Rate and the Infant Mortality Rate are in the improving trend in the State which clearly shows that the Health facilities provided in the State is effective and giving good results especially with the implementation of theGovernment of India Flagship programme like the NRHM.

Dr Mukul Sangma while stating that it is encouraging to see that people now prefers to go to Government Hospitals which is a healthy trend that indicates that Health care facilities are better. He stressed that the Medical fraternity should work hard so as to ensure that the aspirations of the people are met.

Among others who spoke on the occasion were the Deputy Chief Minister, Mr Rowell Lyngdoh, Syiem of Maharam, Mr N Syiemiong and the Deputy Commissioner West Khasi Hills District, Mr S Kharlyngdoh.
