DRAFT PHOTO ELECTORAL ROLL PUBLISHED

Shillong, May 27, 2010: The Photo electoral rolls pertaining to the Assembly Constituency 46- Phulbari (ST), 47-Rajabala (ST), 48- Selsella (ST), 50 –North Tura (ST) 51 – South Tura (ST), 52- Rangsakona (ST), 56- Gambegre (ST) and 57-Dalu (ST) Assembly Constituencies Published have been published in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules 1960 and a copy is available for inspection at the office of the concerned Electoral Registration Officers, at the concerned polling stations or at the office of the Block Development Officers, during office hours.

The qualifying date for the preparation of the electoral roll is on 1st January, 2010.

If with reference to the above said qualifying date, there be any claim for the inclusion of a name in the roll or any objection at the inclusion of name or any objection to particulars in any entry, it should be lodge on or before the 20th May, 2010 to 5th June 2010 in Form 6, 7 or 8 as may be appropriate.

Every such claim or objection should either be presented in the office of the concerned Electoral Registration Officers or to the Designated Officers at the concerned Polling Stations or sent by post so as to reach the Electoral Registration Officer of the respective Assembly Constituencies.

SECTION 144 CRPC PROMULGATED

Shillong, May 27, 2010: In view of the Budget Session of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District has promulgated an Order under Section 144 CrPC in and around the Assembly Building presently located in Arts and Culture building, Rilbong, prohibiting holding of any demonstration/rally/taking out of procession, shouting of slogans, carrying of arms and other lethal weapons and assembly of five or more persons within 200 metres radius of the Arts and Culture Building, Rilbong.

This Order comes into immediate effect and shall remain in force till further orders.
