Press Release No. 346/15 NATIONAL ELECTORAL ROLL PURIFICATION AND AUTHENTICATION PROGRAMME Shillong, May 28, 2015: To ensure a totally error free and authenticated electoral rolls, the Election Commission of India has decided to launch a comprehensive programme, the National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP). This was informed by the District Election Officer, East Khasi Hills District. During the programme, electors are requested to come forward voluntarily to disclose their multiple entries, that is, if they are registered in more than one place, by filling Form 7 for deletion of their names from the places except where they ordinarily resides. The District Election Officer has also appealed to all electors to come forward on their own and voluntarily furnish the requisite information like their Aadhaar number, if any, contact number of self or the family member, email ID if available and to apply for correction of Roll entries in Form 8, if any, after verifying the details in the Electoral Rolls published on 5.1.2015. Information can be furnished to the concerned Booth Level Officers or office of the District Election Officer, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong during office hours in all working days. |
