Press Release No. 131/22 CONSULTATION WITH STAKEHOLDERS WORKING IN THE HEALTH AND URBAN MANAGEMENT SECTORS IN SHILLONG HELD A one day City Consultation with stakeholders working in the Health and Urban Management sectors in Shillong organised by NITI Aayog jointly with USAID, PSI- SAMAGRA and Office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District was held today at Pinewood Hotel, Shillong. The programme was attended by Smti R. M. Kurbah, Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Meghalaya, Smti Isawanda Laloo, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, Health Officials and representatives from different government departments among others. The consultation aims to discuss the bottlenecks and opportunities in the Governance of Urban Health Systems. The topics for the day long programme included, Meghalaya-Urban Health and Governance, Shillong City: Urban Health Challenges and Expectations, participatory deliberation on Urban Health Challenges of Shillong and Strengthening Governance of Urban Health Systems Suggestions for improvements. The facilitators are from NITI Aayog and PSI. |
Press Release No. 133/22 SHG MELA CUM FINANCIAL LITERACY CAMP HELD AT BAGHMARA ON 04.05.2022 The District Administration South Garo Hills District organized an SHG Mela cum Financial Literacy Camp today at Baghmara Bajar Near Bakdil Building. Shri Rakkam A Sangma MLA Rongara Siju Constituency inaugurated the Mela and while appealing to the gathering, the MLA asked them to utilize the available resources which in turn can uplift the economic standard and welfare of the people . During the program, three numbers of loan applications are being sanctioned by Meghalaya Rural Bank and 19 numbers loan is also being sanctioned by MCAB. Besides Community Investment Fund was also disbursed for 12 village organisation amounting to 34 lakhs and revolving fund of Rs 6.30 lakh was distributed to 42 SHG'S members. The Financial Literacy Camp for SHG'S members are being organized where the members are given opportunity to enroll themselves in social security schemes, open savings accounts and loan applications are also being generated during the program. MHIS and Aadhar Enrollment are also being held. During the Mela around 200 SHG'S participated in the Mela. |
