ORDER

In partial modification to Prohibitory Order issued on 9th May, 2020 promulgated under Section 144 CrPC in Shillong Urban Agglomeration, the District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills also prohibit in areas falling under Umshyrpi bridge upto 7th Mile, Upper Shillong of Mylliem C&RD Block, areas falling under census towns of Mawlai and Mawpat C&RD Blocks the opening of restaurants, dairy stalls, tea and food stalls but home delivery is allowed, opening of saloons, beauty parlours, spa and other similar rejuvenating centres, operation of all shops dealing in non-essential items including garments, apparels, drapes, footwear, gift items, bags, suit case, watches, perfumes, toys, sport gears and equipment, luxury items, TV sets, refrigerator, washing machines and other kitchen appliances, utensils, crockery, house-keeping appliances, grooming gadgets, sofa sets, chandeliers, table and chairs, unauthorized car washing unit, tailoring, laundry & dry cleaners, private printing press, furniture workshops, etc, opening of tent house shops, incoming additional labour force to in-situ construction activities but such activities are to continue with the existing workers on site while maintaining social distancing, wearing of masks, respiratory etiquette and other protocols and advisories of the Government in the Health and Family Welfare Department, operation of public and private transport barring public transportation arranged by the Transport Department The District Magistrate also prohibit the opening of restaurants, dairy stalls, tea and food stalls but home delivery is allowed and the opening of saloons, beauty parlours, spa and other similar rejuvenating centres in areas falling under Civil Sub Divisions of Pynursla and Sohra and in all C&RD Blocks of East Khasi Hills District.

CORRIGENDUM

Restaurants, dairy stalls, tea and food stalls, saloons, beauty parlours, spa and other similar rejuvenating centres shall remain closed in rural areas of East Khasi Hills District till further orders. This was informed by the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills in a corrigendum issued on 10th May, 2020. It may be mentioned in an order issued on 9th May, 2020, the Deputy Commissioner said that all shops shall open for 5 days in civil sub-division of Sohra and Pynursla and in all C& RD Blocks of East Khasi Hills District from 12th to 16th May 2020 with effect from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day. However, home delivery of food is allowed. Permission is to be obtained from the concerned Civil Sub Divisional Officers of Pynursla and Sohra or concerned Block Development Officers of East Khasi Hills District, including submission of an undertaking to abide by the applicable instructions of Government and advisories of Health & Family Welfare Department, added the Deputy Commissioner.

PUBLIC NOTICE

The Sub Divisional Officer (Supply), Sohra Civil Sub Division has informed all the retailers of open market grocery store dealing in essential commodities operating under Sohra Civil Sub Division that if they wish to open their retail shops during the COVID-19 pandemic at any future lockdown, spells of curfew or any other prohibitory orders then they will have to register themselves with the department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs. The documents required for registration as per Registration under the Shops and Registration Act, 1953 are license from Legal Metrology Department, registration with the Labour Department, license from the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council and self declaration of Financial Self Sufficiency. The applicant should not have been prosecuted for cases of adulteration, hoarding or black marketing. The registration is valid for only one year starting from 1st July of each calendar year. Forms for registration will be available from Sohra Civil Sub Division (Supply Department) from 15th May, 2020 upto 30th June, 2020 and the cost of registration is Rs. 500/-.
