STAND-ALONE AUTOMOBILE REPAIR SHOPS AND MOBILE CAR REPAIRING SERVICE TO OPEN ON 7TH MAY, 2020

The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District in an Order issued on 6th May, 2020 has informed that the stand-alone automobile repair shops for repairing works of vehicles and mobile car repairing service consisting of a driver and two technicians/mechanics will be allowed to operate in East Khasi Hills District on 7th May, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The Rangbah Shnongs in coordination with the District Police will regulated the operation of the shops in their respective localities and villages and also to ensure due compliance to the advisories of the Government in the Health and Family Welfare Department with special and strict reference to social distancing concerning the COVID-19 situation. In addition the proprietors are requested to strictly maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet, not to overcrowd in one area or shop, to wear mask which is mandatory, not to spit in public places, cooperate with management made by the District Administration, District Police and Rangbah Shnong and to limit staff to the barest minimum. The Deputy Commissioner also informed that further arrangements will be made for the days to come and specific instructions will be suitably published well in advance.

COMPUTER STORES TO OPEN ON 7TH MAY, 2020

The Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District in an Order issued on 6th May, 2020 has informed that Computer stores will be allowed to operate in East Khasi Hills District on 7th May, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. REVIEW MEETING

State Revenue and Disaster Minister, Shri Kyrmen Shylla held a review meeting on 6th May, 2020 with senior officials of the Revenue & Disaster Management Department to take stock of the damages caused during the month of April, 2020 due to sporadic cyclone and rain that lashed some parts of West Khasi Hills, South Garo Hills parts of North and East Garo Hills Districts and also of the preparedness for meeting the challenges of the ensuing monsoon effectively. The Joint Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management stated that on 21st April, 2020 a lightning strike occurred at Mawkadiang village West Khasi Hills where two persons Phuldaris Marwein and Horbinus Jyrwa died on the spot, while a few were injured and he informed that ex-gratia payment of Rs.4,00,000/- has been paid to the next of kin of the deceased persons. In the meeting, the Minister directed the officials of the Department and all the Deputy Commissioners to be on alert and gear up field level officers to meet any eventuality in case of any natural disaster. The Minister expressed his happiness and satisfaction on the contribution made by the Department in containing the COVID-19 in the State and informed that the amount released to the Departments and all the Districts as on today is Rs.3,33,43,275/- only to meet the challenges of the extra-ordinary situation arising out of COVID-19 pandemic.
