NOTICE INVITING APPLICATIONS

The Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills, Shillong invites fresh applications for appointment of Government Nominees/Agents in PDS from interested/bonafide persons/Cooperative Societies/NGOs/SHG/Government Agents for the year 2017 at the wholesale centres at Mawkneng, 1 (One) vacancy and Sohiong, 2 (Two) vacancies. Prescribed application form is available in the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills, Shillong during office hours. Duly filled in application form should reach the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills, Shillong on or before 18th May 2017 during office hours.

ORDER UNDER SECTION 144 CRPC

The Additional Deputy Commissioner in charge Pynursla Civil Sub- Division, Pynursla has promulgated an Order under Section 144 CrPC prohibiting any person, organization, etc. from indulging in, or resorting to, the act of poisoning of rivers, streams or any other water bodies with the explicit or implicit intention to cause wide spread/large scale destruction of aquatic life within the Sub-Division. The order has been passed in view that large scale poisoning of rivers, streams and other water bodies is taking place within the Sub-Division and that the use of chemical and biological substances upon water bodies has resulted in large scale extermination of fishes and other aquatic organisms Such poisoning of aquatic bodies has endangered the local indigenous fishes, flora and fauna besides undermining the local ecology and the use of toxins/poisons in rivers and streams can pose a serious health hazard human life and native flora and fauna alike. The poisoning of water bodies has effected in a huge economic loss to the local economy and population since the short term gains of a few unscrupulous elements has upset the long term economic interest/well being of the general public. The unrelenting practice of this clandestine act of wanton destructions can result in unprecedented law and order problem within the Sub-Division.

NOTIFICATION

For public convenience and better administration, the Government of Meghalaya has created the Hallidayganj Police Station at Hallidayganj in the West Garo Hills District. On creation of the Hallidayganj Police Station, the areas coming under its jurisdiction shall cease to be under Phulbari Police Station. Boundaries of the Hallidayganj Police Station are Rajabala Outpost in the North, Garobadha PIC in the East, Pipulbari in the South and Assam in the West. Villages falling under Hallidayganj Police Station are Hallidayganj, Kasharipa, Char Kasharipara, Lalmati, Boldamggre, Konarchar, Sobribari, Kharigaon, Bollonggre, Newalggre, Jeldupara, Panbari, Tetultolla, Borojhora, Gangsenggre, Choramara, Bangtimari, Jewali, Sewaraggre, Dhanua, Pipulbari. This was informed by the Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Home (Police) Department.
