FELICITATION PROGRAMME

Dorbar Shnong, Jaiaw Laitdom organized a felicitation programme for State and National Awardees of Jaiaw Laitdom on 28th May, 2016. Meghalaya Home Minister, Smti Roshan Warjri attended the programme as the Chief Guest. The Awardees were (L) Shri Babu Saron Shullai, National Award, Excellent Teacher, 1964, (L) Smti Kilolida Kharsati, National Award, Excellent Teacher, 1965, (L) Smti Listrimai Syiemlieh, State Award, Arts and Literature, 2001, Smti Ibarilin Kharsati, National Award, Excellent Teacher, 2011, Smti Bertha Dkhar, Award for Child Welfare, 2000 and Padmashree Award, 2009 and Shri Headingson Ryntathiang, State Award, Tirot Sing Award Arts and Literature, 2016. The programme was also attended by Shri A. Nongrum, MDC, Shri S. B. Kharbangar, Rangbah Shnong, Shri J. S. Cajee, Shri H. S. Suting, General Secretary among others.

TAXATION DEPARTMENT ENABLES MORE TAXES FOR ONLINE PAYMENT

The Taxation Department, Government of Meghalaya has w.e.f. 27th May, 2016 added Luxury Tax and Tax on sale of Motor Spirit and Diesel for online payment through 5(five) empanelled Banks i.e. State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, United Bank of India, Vijaya Bank and IDBI Bank in addition to the already existing online payment of tax under MVAT and CST Acts. The dealers are required to use their MVAT TIN No. to login to the Department website and in the e-Services to click on online payment of taxes. Dealers may contact the officers of the Department on the contact numbers available in the website in case of any difficulty. This was informed by the Commissioner of Taxes, Meghalaya, Shillong
