PUBLIC NOTICE

Shillong, June 10, 2015: The District Magistrate, East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, has informed that the quality of air has deteriorated in Shillong city due to vehicular emissions, rise in population in addition to domestic and other sources of air pollution. Therefore in order to prevent and control air pollution and to restore ambient air quality and in compliance with the order of the National Green Tribunal, the general public is requested to promote the use of LPG as domestic fuel instead of burning coal or wood in the District. Anyone facing difficulty in getting domestic LPG connection can approach the Office of the Deputy Commissioner in this connection.

The order has been issued for the safety and health of the general public.
